Origin Story
Michael Wiese
Founder, Executive Producer
With over 20 years experience developing, producing and activating iconic branded entertainment for major media companies, advertising agencies, and start-up studios, founder Michael Wiese (we-see) creates famous brands through memorable story, strategy and execution. He has led teams and brand content & entertainment practices for The Walt Disney Co. / National Geographic Partners; Omnicom Media Group / Hearts & Sciences; J. Walter Thompson; and production company Hypnotic. As an independent producer, creator, and consultant, Wiese has led work with Original Media (Banijay), Swanhaus Bros. Productions, Stan Lee's POW Entertainment and First Look Pictures.
Notable achievement includes: co-creating the recent chef series Recipe for Innovation with Invesco QQQ; creating dozens of acclaimed custom content programs and advising for brands including Ford, Pfizer, and Nike, Procter & Gamble, Rolex, Microsoft, Smirnoff, and Macys; independently co-creating the long-running television series Stormchasers and BBQ Pit Masters for Discovery Networks; creating the television movie FIVE for Lifetime & Sony Television, in partnership with Creative Artists Agency and Jennifer Aniston; and packaging the all-time great Super Bowl commercial and character, Terry Tate: Office Linebacker.
During his ad agency era, Wiese's pioneering role for branded entertainment was recognized with his selection as jury president at Dubai Lynx and The Clios, and as juror at The One Show, AICP Next, and D&AD award shows. He was also first at JWT to embrace creator and influencer marketing, leading YouTube programming for Nestle and Royal Caribbean, and becoming the first creative agency leader to be YouTube Certified.
Wiese began his creative career in Seattle in the 90s, when he bought a Super8 camera and launched Flannelhead Films, to produce promotional documentaries for unsigned grunge bands. After making his directorial debut with the festival short film, The Transcendental Slave, aptly reviewed as "bizarre and overextended" by the Seattle Times, his story moved to Los Angeles for UCLA Graduate School of Film & TV, then to NYC, where he currently resides in lower Manhattan.
